Flavor Flav and Champagne

So its the morning after the Freefest and Im really feeling it today. I gave it everything I had during the set including running all the way up that big blue wall and into the grass. Its funny, when I do stuff like that during a show, I never think, man - this might hurt tomorrow - but its so much fun that I dont really care.

It was a trip sharing the stage with Public Enemy who according to backstage sources told me that once Flav was informed that we were on the show, broke out into a chorus of 'So Last Summer'. Other highlights of the day include seeing (although not meeting) Richard
Branson, the Virgin big cheese and one of the wealthiest men alive.

You might remember him from the episode of Cribs where he showed off his ISLAND (also featuring a cameo by Mariah Carey who was visiting on a separate portion of the island as Richard's guest). My favorite moment was watching 2 guys jump out of a helicopter and parachute down onto the top of the amphitheatre just in time for Branson to cork a bottle of champagne and pour it all over the audience. That guy knows how to live.
So today its back to the Blink Tour...hope to see you all soon.

Checking in from the road...

Hey y'all, just checking in from Jones Beach where the weather isn't really our friend today. The words "torrential downpour" come to mind. But, we are still in good spirits and good company with Envy on the Coast and Underoath hanging out so a little rain hopefully won't DAMPEN our morale. Ok fine, worst pun ever.

Thank you, and you and you...

On Behalf of TBS, EOTC, and Anberlin I want to say Thank You to everyone who came out to this last tour. This last tour really goes down in the books as one of the best tours ever. We cant tell you how good it feels to hear how much everyone loves 'New Again' and the great reactions to the new jams live. We haven't had this much fun on tour in a long time. It truly went by too fast. To everyone who couldnt get in to the shows, dont sweat it, this is only the beginning of the touring for New Again and we will be back sometime this year or early next year.

Our deepest apology to Toronto - but rest assured, your own personal make up show is coming and it will be one to remember.

Now we rest for a minute and get ready to head overseas then its off to Blink Tour. We hope everyone is having a great summer. See you again soon.

Ready To Be Blog Again 2

Dear Blogosphere,

I Am Ready To Be Blog Again

Hello Blog-land! It's been a bit of stretch since I last wrote so I wanted to catch up with everyone about the beginning of our US/Canada New Again Tour. These first few shows have been beyond amazing. Cleveland, Cincinnati, Orland Park, Detroit, and Minneapolis, thanks for making this BY FAR the most fun start to a tour, ever. The energy every night has been so great that we all can't help but turn to each other during the set with the biggest smiles on our faces and start laughing like giddy little kids in a candy store. It's an absolute pleasure to have Anberlin out with us and get to know them as well as re-hash a little flavor from our December tour with our close buddies Envy On the Coast opening up every evening. It really makes for such an exciting show from start to finish that we hope our fans will love just as much as we do. Here's a few highlights from the first few shows that I wanted to pass along...

Cleveland-

Pontiac Michigan Rocks

Wow. Wow. Pontiac, Michigan. Close to Detroit. We had fun in your town last night. It was so much fun we need a new word for fun! YOU GUYS were amazing last night. Not to say the first few audiences weren't great, but Wow. You have set the bar high. Thank you for reminding us why we do what we do. We had so much playing that we really didn't want to get offstage. That will rank for us as one of the best Taking Back Sunday shows ever. We can't stop smiling! - Love Matt, Mark, Adam, Ed and Matt

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for wishing me a happy birthday. You are all very thoughtful and it made my day even better. It was a big day not only because I achieved another year of existence but I got to hear the first, final, mastered copy of NEW AGAIN. Best self made present ever.

we cannot wait for you to hear it
