Flavor Flav and Champagne

So its the morning after the Freefest and Im really feeling it today. I gave it everything I had during the set including running all the way up that big blue wall and into the grass. Its funny, when I do stuff like that during a show, I never think, man - this might hurt tomorrow - but its so much fun that I dont really care.

It was a trip sharing the stage with Public Enemy who according to backstage sources told me that once Flav was informed that we were on the show, broke out into a chorus of 'So Last Summer'. Other highlights of the day include seeing (although not meeting) Richard
Branson, the Virgin big cheese and one of the wealthiest men alive.

You might remember him from the episode of Cribs where he showed off his ISLAND (also featuring a cameo by Mariah Carey who was visiting on a separate portion of the island as Richard's guest). My favorite moment was watching 2 guys jump out of a helicopter and parachute down onto the top of the amphitheatre just in time for Branson to cork a bottle of champagne and pour it all over the audience. That guy knows how to live.
So today its back to the Blink Tour...hope to see you all soon.

Im really glad you guys came to Omaha, Ne. I love TBS so much and I think New Again is off the charts with greatness. Its PERFECT in everyway. Sometimes i think my heart will explode just listening to it :) When I heard carpathia, I thought to myself this might be my all time favorite song ever! Its awsome that you came to Sokol, I love that its small and I could actully see you guys play and do your thing. I dont think you could have picked a better band to tour with than Anberlin. They're no TBS but they really got the crowd going. I think the song set was really good with a mix of the new and old. I dont ever order CDs so I hadent heard any of the new music and I couldnt wait to buy it once I did. I got the one with the DVD and im glad I did, its interesting to see what you have to say about the music that my life revolves around LOL. This album convinces me that you guys are only getting better and better ( not that I ever doubted it).

Ha! I remember the first time I saw the video for Your So Last Summer. Knocked my socks off and I had to show all my buddies (still do). Those were the good ole' days. What happend? I mean, I went off the deep end with TBS almost 6 years ago and loved every minute of it. But now.... *sigh* it's just not the same anymore. I'm not discrediting the need to expand and grow as musicians. I get that. But it's like the quality of the music has gotten lazy and there's almost no passion left in what you're doing. Well, who am I to say anything. I'm just throwing it out there, as a very dedicated fan, that I felt nothing when I listened to New Again. And that surprised the crap out of me. Nothing. I wanted to. I tried to. It just wouldn't happen. You're probably thinking that it's me, and a part of it is. I've gotten older as you have. But none-the-less, I just wanna say that I spend about 3 hours in the car yesterday losing myself to the first 3 albums and I felt fantastic. New Again doesn't do it for me. I can only hope that the next album you guys put out vears a little more to the kind of stuff that put you on the map in the first place. Remember, write songs because you love doing it. Forget the paycheck... that's come later. I'll be standing by; ready to purchase. Good luck TBS.
